Emergency meetings have been held with the National Park authorities and other national and local government officials, and it has been unanimously agreed that the village can be re-located in a safer location elsewhere in the Mae Aeb valley. The National Park authorities had, however, one strict proviso, namely, that all the village must relocate, not just a part of it. There will be some material support from the Government for this relocation, but not nearly enough to cover the costs. The Foundation is monitoring the situation and will put out an emergency appeal for relocation funds, should this prove necessary.

UPDATE:   As of mid-August 2010 no Government funding has been received to facilitate the relocation of Ban Pa Khaem.
